When is LayerZero launching ?
We're currently under 3 audits (Zokyo, Trail of Bits (Partial), and Slowmist) and we will launch soon after the completion of the audits. Rough timeline is asap :). We'll provide test net details and demos prior as well as full set of documentation and use case examples.
How can we take part and support the protocol?
We will roll out tons of details on this over the next few weeks. There will be lots of ways to get involved. such as demos, testnet playground, etc. all available over the next few weeks. Would love to have you all come test.
What about X (economics, game theory, etc.) ?
We just came out of stealth yesterday and have primarily been focused on speaking about the technology and implication. Have a ton more we’ll be sharing over the coming weeks talking about every other aspect of the system (economic, game theory, etc)
How does your relay chain work?
We don't have any sort of RelayChain, we don't run any sort of middleware consensus all validation is done directly on-chain at the destination chain. But we do have Relayers who submit tx proofs to destination chain, just want to make sure that difference is abundantly clear as it's one of the major differences from existing architectures
Do you see X as a competitor / are you similar to X?
We don't really think about competition that much. Every single existing solution falls into 1 of the 2 broad categories. Middlechain or On-chain light node. Both come with fairly extreme tradeoffs on the cost <——> security spectrum. We've invented something (Ultra Light Node) that creates a new category along this spectrum and we think it's the most elegant architecture and it's what we're building on.
Thinking in terms of "first" or "competitor" is just a distraction. We think in terms of what is the best possible architecture for secure and efficient delivery of messages, and what is the best/most seamless possible interface for new and existing dapps to interface with that. -——> and then that's what we're trying to build.
